​This Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care will provide students with an understanding of supporting children’s wellbeing, learning and development, as well as the legal and ethical requirements of caring for and educating children.  Upon completion of this course, you will be able to seek employment in a range of early learning settings, caring for children aged up to 12 years.

Course overview
Direct entry / Semester one and two This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standards. Workers in this field support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children's well being, learning and development. This is a full time course delivered 2 to 3 days per week on campus over 6 months.

Practical placement- students will complete 2x 2week blocks of placement where student is expected to complete 5 full days for each week, totalling approx. 152hrs, which will be planned by our placement coordinator. Some students may need to travel outside of their home suburb/town to complete placement, but we will make every attempt to keep as local as possible Bendigo TAFE will organise practical placement for each student in various organisation across the sector. Students cannot begin placement until they have completed appropriate paperwork which includes, NPC, WWCC and placement agreements. Bendigo TAFEs Placement Support Officer will assist students with their placement needs in approved host organisations.
