If you have a passion for caring for people, want to work in one of the fastest growing industries in Australia, or simply want to know how to care for your parents or grandparents when they get older, our Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Home and Community) course will help you achieve your goals.

We understand your passion in helping others. That’s why we’ve created a course that supports and fosters your enthusiasm towards helping those with a disability. This course can also focus on disability support as opposed to ageing and home and community. 

Caring for individuals requires you to be knowledgeable within a wide range of specialised areas. In 6 months, our course will prepare you for working under supervision in Ageing in place facilities.  You will be required to undertake a 4 week block work placement (which is five days per week - 120 Hours) to ensure that you can practically apply what you learn in class.

Accreditation: 
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Certificate III in Individual Support.  As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.

Possible Careers:
This course may lead to employment in residential aged care facilities and / or home and community care.

Prerequisites:
You must be literate in written English as documentation is a large par of this work.  You will need an understanding of multicultural, indigenous culture and history and work well with local communities in providing services.

Selection Process:

  • Pre-training interview
  • Completion of a Language, literacy and numeracy assessment

Recognition of Prior Learning: 
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) may be given for skills and knowledge gained through previous study or other relevant experience.  For further information refer to RPL.
